Shared Enterprise was established as Community Interest Company in March 2014. Shared Enterprise brings together a rich mix of talents, skills and perspectives. Some members of the team have been involved in combating inequality and social exclusion since the 1970s. We sometimes feel as if things have gone backwards since then. There is still so much to do and what can people like us really do to make any difference in the face of globalisation and deep rooted and growing inequality? Shared Enterprise is our answer to this question. It encapsulates our belief that we should use whatever knowledge and expertise we have at our disposal to work together to meet today’s ever more complex and growing challenges.
We would love to come up with some big ideas, but we hope that the small things we achieve will make some contribution to making a better and more sustainable future for vulnerable and disadvantaged people. Shared Enterprise has grown out of the Gilfillan Partnership, a successful commercial economic development consultancy organisation. The company’s legal status never sat comfortably with its emerging social mission. Shared Enterprise as a Community Interest Company and social enterprise is a much better reflection of our objectives and values. Much of the Gilfillan Partnership’s work will continue within Shared Enterprise. Visit our website.
